Privacy

Updated October 1, 2026. The short version first.
Your quilts stay on your phone
Your projects, checklists, photos and fabric stash are saved on this device only.
No account, no ads, no tracking
There is no sign-in, no advertising, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
The website counts visits, not people
A random visitor number and the page you opened — never who you are.

What stays on your phone

Everything you type or save is kept on your device, in the app’s own storage (in your browser’s storage on the website). We cannot see it.
Your projects, their plans, checklists and names
Your progress photos and fabric photos (they are copied into the app’s own folder, never uploaded)
Your fabric stash
The numbers you type into a calculator, and your settings

Pins and PDFs

A pin image or a PDF of a plan is made on your device. It goes only where you send it — Pinterest, Messages, a printer — and it holds our drawing of the quilt and its numbers, never your photos.

What the app sends

Anonymous usage counts, so we know which parts help quilters. Quilt Blueprint counts when you open the app for the first time; you start the welcome; you pick inches or centimetres; you open a tab; you change a setting; you open a calculator; a calculator gives you an answer; you move through the planner; you make a plan (which block, how many blocks); you open a block’s page; you save a project; you open a project; you tick a cut off the checklist (how many are done); you add a photo (how many a project has — never the photo); you delete a project; you open the fabric stash; you save a fabric (by the yard or fat quarters); you delete a fabric; a project checks a fabric (enough or short); you share a pin; you open the Pro page; you close it; a purchase does not go through; you restore a purchase; you start a free trial; you buy Pro; you print or save a plan as a PDF; you join the email list on the website; you send us a message — with a random install number made on your phone. The counts carry small details such as which block or which calculator — never your name, your email, your photos, your project names or where you are.
You can stop them any time in Settings › Share anonymous usage; turning it off also deletes the counts still waiting on your phone. A test copy of the app, the iPhone Simulator and our own test runs never send any.

Buying Pro

If you buy Quilt Blueprint Pro in the iPhone app, Apple takes the payment: we never see your card, your name or your Apple ID. RevenueCat, the service that checks a purchase with Apple, receives a random number it makes for this app, what was bought and when, and your App Store’s country — nothing about your quilts. We use it only to know whether Pro is on.

Visits to this website

When you open a page of this website, the page counts the visit: the page’s address on this site, the name of the website that sent you (for example “pinterest.com”, never the full address you came from), the campaign name a link carried (its utm_source), whether the browser is being driven by a script, and a random visitor number kept in your browser. It is not a cookie. The iPhone app sends none of this.
To leave out robots, our own test runs and our own visits, the website looks at your country and your internet address while the page loads, and stores neither. Visitor numbers are deleted after 30 days; after that only daily totals remain.

The email list

If you type your email into the sign-up box on the website, we keep it with the page you signed up on, the date, and the version of the words you agreed to. We use it only for what the box says (launch news, then a quilting tip now and then), through Brevo, the service that sends the emails. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe; we never share or sell the list.

Messages you send us

What you choose to send with “Tell us” (a cut size that was wrong, a fabric amount that seems off, an idea, or anything else): your message, what it is about, and — only if you type it — an email address so we can answer you. A message with an email address is sent without the install number, so it can never be joined to the usage counts. No photo is ever sent. We do not store the internet address it came from.

How long we keep it

Website visitor numbers are deleted after 30 days. Usage counts are deleted after 24 months. Messages you send us are deleted within 24 months of the last reply. An email address stays on the list until you unsubscribe.

Your choices

Deleting the app deletes everything it saved on your phone. On the website, clearing this site’s data in your browser deletes the visitor number and anything you saved there. Settings › Share anonymous usage stops the usage counts, in the app and on the website.
To have a message or your email address deleted, write to us through the Help page.

Children

The app is made for adults who quilt. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. We will never start using data in a new way without saying so here first.
Pro is sold under Apple’s standard licence: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula/
