A twin package (72 × 90 in) covers 58 × 73 in.
Or off a 90 in roll: 2⅛ yd.

How this is worked out

Batting is cut bigger than the quilt top, like the backing: 4 in on every side.
Packaged batting comes in craft, crib, twin, full, queen and king sizes; the calculator picks the smallest one that covers your quilt (turned, if that fits better). Check the label — brands differ by a few inches.
Off the roll, batting is sold 90, 96 or 120 in wide. The calculator picks the narrowest roll that covers the short side of your quilt and tells you how long to cut it.
